Hillclimbers claim share of CBC/MRD title


BELLEFONTAINE – Urbana clinched at least a share of the CBC/MRD title with a 58-38 win over Ben Logan Friday night in boys basketball.

“We’re happy because that was our goal coming into the season, but we’d like to win it outright next Friday night,” said UHS Coach Jeremy Dixon.

For the Hillclimbers (12-6, 8-1), Cameron Logwood had 16 points, Kalen Howell had 12 and Jace Underwood added 11.

UHS won the jayvee game, 45-33. For Urbana, Dakota Hower had 14 points, Alex Lohnes had 11 and Reid Taylor added 10.

Graham boys lose

ENON – Greenon beat Graham, 63-43, in CBC/MRD boys basketball on Friday.

Andrew Ford had 16 points for the Falcons (5-14, 3-6).

Cardinals win at SCC

SPRINGFIELD – Triad beat Catholic Central, 64-55, in OHC boys basketball on Friday.

Hadley LeVan had 22 points to lead the Cardinals (14-6, 8-5), Ryan Boyd scored 17 and Colby Watson had 15.

Triad plays at Cedarville next Friday.

WL-S girls win in bowling

West Liberty-Salem defeated Riverside, 2,062-1,735, in non-league girls bowling.

Scores for the Tigers were Hailee Clifford: 189-135 324 series, Erica McCall: 175-143 318 series, Rachel Larson: 158-150 308 series, Taylor Loverde: 136-139 275 series and Lauren Hostetler: 129-131 260 series.
