Mechanicsburg girls knock off Fairbanks, 64-58

MILFORD CENTER – Mechanicsburg defeated Fairbanks, 64-58, in non-league girls basketball on Thursday.

Mikayla Dodane had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Elly Schipfer scored 18 points and Sydney Hux added 17 for the Indians.

WL-S girls fall

CEDARVILLE – WL-S fell to Cedarville, 44-36, Thursday night in OHC girls basketball.

The Tigers fall to 15-3, 10-1 while Cedarville improves to 16-3, 8-3.

Henry shines for Falcons

ENON – In Graham’s 69-35 win over Greenon in CBC/MRD girls basketball on Wednesday, Sarah Henry had 20 points and 9 rebounds, Taylor Gibson had 13 points, Brittany Smith had 10, Bethany Horner had 10 and Kari Smith added 10 for the Falcons.

Graham won the jayvee game, 34-21. For the Falcons, Madi Vanscoy had 20 points.

On Thursday, Anna beat Graham, 71-34. Gibson had 14 points for the Falcons.

Urbana bowlers split

The Urbana boys bowling team beat Northwestern, 2,895-2,725.

For UHS, Luc Russell rolled a 226-247/473, Skyler Reisinger had a 199-225/424, Kyle Beavers had a 180-208/388 and Kyle Schrader recorded a 196-193/389. Blaine Arms had a 208 game.

The Urbana girls team lost to Northwestern, 2,494-2,383.

For UHS, Paige Stokes had a 216-183/399, Brittany Gaver rolled a 174-192/366, Kayla Evans had a 182 game, Olivia Krieger added a 157 and Myea Ogden recorded a 154.

Junior high basketball

Urbana’s 7th grade boys lost to Greenon, 54-25. Nolan Smith scored 13 points for Urbana.

The Urbana 8th grade boys won, 44-40. Grant Hower scored 14 points and Isaiah Fonseca had 13 points for UJHS.

Triad’s 7th grade boys defeated South Vienna, 29-25. Drew Campbell had 11 points for the Cardinals.

Triad’s 8th graders won, 40-31. Layne Thompson had 8 points for the Cardinals.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade boys basketball team wrapped their regular season with a 45-20 win over Catholic Central. WL-S was led by Nick Burden with 12 points.
