Southeastern girls defeat Mechanicsburg, 47-31


SOUTH CHARLESTON – Southeastern defeated Mechanicsburg, 47-31, in OHC girls basketball on Thursday.

The Trojans out-scored the Indians, 32-14, in the second half.

Elly Schipfer had 18 points and 7 rebounds and Sydney Hux had 11 rebounds for the Indians.

Mechanicsburg hosts Benjamin Logan on Monday.

Junior high basketball

The Urbana 7th grade boys lost to Graham, 39-18. Kellen Thomas had 8 points for Urbana (0-13).

The Urbana 8th graders won, 37-33. For Urbana (9-4), Isaiah Fonseca had 10 pointsm Ethan Headlee had 9 and Grant Hower added 8.

Graham stats were not reported.

Graham’s 7th grade girls beat Urbana, 24-20. Karissa Sanford had 9 points and Ariel Cupps had 8 for Graham.

Urbana’s 8th graders won, 23-18.

The Triad 7th grade girls lost WL-S, 29-24. For Triad (10-4), Cati LeVan had 11 points and Baylie Plank had 7. For WL-S (14-2), Selena Weaver had 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The Triad 8th graders lost, 31-13. For Triad (2-12), Kendell Hughes had 6 points.

The WL-S 7th grade boys beat Triad, 60-26. Nick Burden paced the Tigers with 18 points, Tanner Le Van added 13 and Jace Wade had 11.

The WL-S 8th grade boys won, 44-19. The Tigers (11-1) were led by Ethan Cole with 9 points and Trevor Wooruff with 8 points.
