The Champaign County Board of Elections on Friday certified all issues and partisan candidates filed at the board office by the Wednesday deadline for March 15 primary election ballots. Write-in candidates for the primary must file by 4 p.m. Jan. 4, 2016.
Independents must file by 4 p.m. March 14, 2016, to appear on Nov. 8, 2016, general election ballots. Write-in candidates for that election must file by Aug. 29, 2016.
