Graham’s Marinelli shines at Ironman tourney

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – The Graham wrestling team placed third with 126.5 points at the Ironman on Saturday. Winning the tourney with 171 points was Wyoming Seminary (Pa.) and Blair Academy (N.J.) finished second with 146 points.

Graham’s Alex Marinelli won an individual title at 160 pounds and was named Outstanding Wrestler at the tourney.

Marinelli won in a fall in 4:26 over Thomas Justin of Calvary Chapel (Calif.) in the final.

Other placers for the Falcons included: 3rd Mitch Moore (126); 3rd Brent Moore (138); 5th Rocky Jordan (145) and 6th Garrett Jordan (170).

Urbana’s Jack Harris placed second at 195 pounds.

In the semifinal, Harris beat Tyler Frankrone of Trinity (Louisville), 4-3.

In the final, Harris lost to Blair Academy’s Chase Singletary, 5-1.

Graham “BLACK” results

The Graham “BLACK” team wrestled at the Jimmy Mac Duals in Bellefontaine on Saturday.

Graham BLACK beat Maysville, 69-9; New Lexington beat Graham BLACK, 36-30; Graham BLACK beat Canal Winchester, 66-15; Oregon Clay beat Graham BLACK, 34-31, and Findlay beat Graham BLACK, 36-32.
