Dusty Moell and Annika Wolfe are West Liberty-Salem’s Seniors of the Month for December. Their comments follow.

Dusty Moell

PARENTS: Chris and Becky Moell

School Activities and Awards: I am in link crew, key club, and NHS. I also play baseball and football and lift weights.

If I were principal for a day: I would cancel school

Favorite school memory: The good old days in elementary when there was nap time and snacks.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents and friends

Because: They push me to always do the best and set an example on how to do that

Lately, I have been reading: Articles for English and my English textbook

My advice to parents: Let your kid make their own decisions occasionally, they have to get used to it since they’re leaving for college soon.

My biggest regret: I don’t really regret anything

Next year I will be: At Ohio University studying business

Annika Wolfe

PARENTS: Shawn & Tim Wolfe

School Activities and Awards: Activities- Senior Class Treasurer, Student Council Vice President, Link Crew, National Honor Society, Key Club, Calculus Club, Club Soccer, and High School Soccer.

Awards- Player of the Year for the OHC (2015) & Second Team All-State Soccer (2014 & 2015 seasons).

If I were principal for a day: If I were principal for a day I would give everyone a day off and send them home.

Favorite school memory: My favorite school memory would have to be “Free Friday’s” in elementary school (extended recess time).

People who have been an inspiration to me include: Mia Hamm

Because: I watched her play soccer ever since I can remember and she inspired me to work hard to become the soccer player and person that I am today.

Lately, I have been reading: Lately, I have been too busy to read due to my activities & work schedule.

My advice to parents: My advice to parents would be to let your children make their own decisions and allow them to be their own person.

My biggest regret: No, I feel like I have accomplished the goals that I set out to achieve in my high school career.

Next year I will be: Attending a university and majoring in International Affairs and minoring in Arabic.
