An exhibit titled “Beyond,” featuring the work of artist Rachel Schutt, has opened at the Urbana University Miller Center for Visual Arts.
The exhibit features watercolors and mixed media paintings influenced by nature, breakthroughs in astrophysics, quantum electrodynamics and geometry.
Schutt is a 2010 graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design and a studio tenant/member of makerspace, Columbus Idea Foundry. Her work has been selected for Ohio Art League’s juried exhibitions, and COSI displayed eight prints of her “Continuum” body of work.
This body of work was constructed to raise awareness for science education and explores the concepts of applied astrophysics.
The exhibit is open Thursdays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. through Dec. 12. There is no charge, but gifts to the Miller Center for Visual Arts are welcome. The Miller Center is located in the Urbana University’s Browne Hall, 518 College Way.
