Downtown Urbana prepares for big weekend

In preparation for the upcoming holiday shopping season in downtown Urbana, Dr. Dave Smith, owner of Freshwater Farms, volunteered to hang large red bows on the windows at H. Holding & Company, 15 Monument Square. The downtown has extended shopping hours this weekend (Nov. 6-8), an effort which coincides with the Preservation Alliance’s Urban Loft Tour. The hours for this year’s Holiday Open House are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
