Indians, Cardinals earn road victories

JAMESTOWN – Kaleb Romero and Phil Cook each ran for two touchdowns as unbeaten Mechanicsburg knocked off Greeneview, 38-7, Friday night in OHC football.

Romero also threw a 15-yard TD pass to Wade Smiddy and Alex Rhine booted a 28-yard field goal.

The Indians led, 24-7, at the half and took a 31-7 lead early in the third quarter.

Mechanicsburg had 417 total yards compared to 144 for the Rams.

Romero rushed for 157 yards on 11 carries and Cook added 85 yards on 15 attempts.

The Indians (9-0, 6-0) close out the regular season next Friday night by hosting Southeastern.

Triad 35, Central 14

SPRINGFIELD – Triad’s Trent McIntyre accounted for 330 yards of offense as the Cardinals knocked off Springfield Catholic Central, 35-14, Friday night in the OHC.

McIntyre had 212 yards passing and 118 rushing for Triad. He rushed for three TDs and passed to Camron Atchison for another.

Jacob Thompson also added a scoring run for the Cardinals.

The visitors had 561 total yards in the contest.

Triad jumped out to an early 7-0, but the Irish rallied to tie the score at 7-7.

Triad owned a 14-7 lead at halftime and went up 21-7 heading into the fourth period.

The Cardinals increased their lead to 28-7 early in the fourth quarter.

Triad (4-5) ends its season next Friday night by hosting Northeastern.
