Boys in grades 1-5 invited to join Scouts

0

The Tecumseh Council, Boy Scouts of America, is inviting every boy to join a local Cub Scout program.

The annual “School Night to Join Scouting” campaign begins this month and will continue through the fall. Each boy who signs up will receive a free rocket kit. Build the rocket and blast it off during a Halloween event held at Camp Birch in Yellow Springs on Oct. 10.

School Night to Join Scouting dates are:

-Urbana City Schools, Thursday Sept. 24, 6-7 p.m., Barbara Howell Park

-Mechanicsburg Dohron Wilson Elementary, Thursday Sept. 24, 6-7 p.m, elementary cafeteria

-Triad Local Schools, Friday, Sept. 25, 6-7 p.m., elementary school

-Graham Elementary School, Wednesday, Sept. 23, 6-7 p.m., cafeteria

Although each school has a special School Night, boys can join at any time.

The Boy Scouts of America is the largest youth-development program in the nation. There are more than 3 million registered youth members in the B.S.A., and more than 3,500 in the Tecumseh Council.

Boys and parents or guardians who cannot make the designated “School Night” can contact their local Scout office about registration information. For more information call the Tecumseh Council at 937-325-6449 or visit www.tecumsehcouncilbsa.org.
