DeGRAFF – On Saturday, Shady Bowl Speedway will honor a local couple for years of service to the hillside oval.

Earl and Peggy Isaacs of St. Paris have worked at Shady Bowl since 1973.

“Earl actually started in 1966 as track photographer,” said Peggy. “We were married in 1973 and I became the photo lady. Earl took the photos for several years before moving to the tower as announcer. I took over the camera work and have had a great time. We have had a rough year as Earl was seriously hurt in a auto crash. He has not been to the track since mid-June. We want to thank the Shady Bowl ownership for this great honor.”

The modifieds will run a 40-lap feature paying $1,200 to the winner of the first Isaacs Family Classic.

In addition, there will be a drawing and one lucky driver will win four racing tires. In addition it will be DARF night with all DARF members admitted free of charge to the grandstand area with a current membership card.

The late models, street stocks, compacts and pure stocks will also battle. Racing will start at 7 p.m.
