ST. PARIS – Graham Local Schools’ board is looking to have an interim superintendent hired by the end of the month.

The board will interview three candidates for the position at a special meeting today (Wednesday). They are current Northwestern Local Schools Interim Superintendent Matt Curtis, former Benjamin Logan Local Schools Superintendent Lori Lytle and former Triad Local Schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Meredith.

The board seeks a replacement for Superintendent Norm Glismann, who resigned to become the superintendent of Tecumseh Local Schools in New Carlisle. His last day is July 31.

The interim superintendent candidates are:

•Matt Curtis, current interim superintendent at Northwestern Local Schools. Curtis is a former educational consultant at Dayton Public Schools and Tecumseh Local Schools. He is a former assistant principal at Northwestern Elementary and assistant superintendent at Tecumseh Local Schools. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and master’s degree from the University of Dayton.

•Lori Lytle, former Benjamin Logan Local Schools superintendent. Lytle is also a former superintendent of Greenon Local Schools and Mapleton Local Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Defiance College and a master’s degree from the University of Dayton.

•Craig Meredith, former Triad Local Schools superintendent. Meredith is a former assistant high school principal at Graham High School, former treasurer of Triad Local Schools, and currently an adjunct professor at Urbana University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, master’s degrees in educational leadership for administration and research from Wright State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

The school board also approved a contract with K-12 Business Consulting Inc. to assist with its interim and permanent superintendent searches. The contract will cost the district $14,500, Treasurer Judy Geers said. The organization has assisted with the superintendent searches for Benjamin Logan Local Schools, Northwestern Local Schools, Northeastern Local Schools, Greenon Local Schools, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, Springfield City Schools and London City Schools in the past six months, search consultant Dennis Leone said.

Board President Steve Setty said the board hopes to select an interim superintendent by the end of the month. The search for a new superintendent should begin in October, after the board and school community work together to craft a profile of the type of candidate the district seeks. Setty said the goal is to have candidates submit credentials by early January; interviews with candidates would take place after that, with the hope of selecting a new superintendent in early March.
