The Lani Anders Angel Foundation, which supports education through local academic scholarships and grants, missions, and other local and national charities, will hold the 11th annual weekend Celebration of Life events July 31-Aug. 1. The foundation was established in 2003 through The Columbus Foundation by the family of Lani Renay Anders, a West Liberty-Salem junior killed as the result of an automobile crash.

Urbana – The first fun, family-friendly event slated is a quarter auction at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at The Cheetah Lounge, 211 Glen Ave., Urbana. Admission is free. There will be a variety of items on which to bid, valued from $10 to over $100. Items include gift cards, cash, 31 bags, collectibles and more. Auction paddles are $1 each. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. There will be 50-50 drawings, a gift basket raffle, games and door prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration and refreshments. Bidding will start at 6:30 p.m.

Marysville – On Saturday, Aug. 1, a memorial four-person golf scramble will take place at The Marysville Golf Club, 13638 state Route 38, Marysville, with a shotgun start at noon. The fee of $55 per person includes green fees for 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, snacks, a goody bag, awards for longest drive male/female, closest-to-the pin male/female, and prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Door prizes, Skins, and 50-50 drawing games will be a part of the day.

Those unable to attend the golf scramble or quarter auction, but who wish to donate in some way to either event, can sponsor a team ($220,) a hole ($50,) a golf cart ($25,) or donate items for goody bags or door prizes for the golf scramble and/or become a “Table Sponsor” at the quarter auction by donating new items for bidding, cash, gift cards/certificates, gift baskets or door prizes. All donations and sponsorships are 100 percent tax deductible and checks should be made out to The Lani Anders Angel Foundation and mailed to Katy Sanford, 18307 Mill Road, Marysville, OH 43040, no later than Saturday, July 25.
