Urbana native, the late Judge Robert Duncan, once confided that he studied the county’s history “because it’s so darned fascinating!” Evidence of his statement has been collected, recorded and displayed by dedicated volunteers at the Champaign County Historical Society. Their labor of love has created a museum of professional quality. To be open more hours, process the priceless artifacts and share our past through public and school presentations, a full-time museum director has become a must. Vote yes for the .3 mill levy to fund this position, assure the preservation of our life story and honor our intrepid ancestors who wrote it!
