Several egrets are shown gathered in a marshy area of southeastern Champaign County. Urbana’s Emma Landolfo took their photo before they took flight. Egrets are herons with white plumage that is lighter during breeding season. They are generally spotted in North American wetland areas and are long-legged wading birds.
