UHS boys win district bowling tournament

BEAVERCREEK – The Urbana boys bowling team won the district tournament on Thursday to advance to the state tournament on Friday, Feb. 26 in Columbus.

UHS’s Kyle Schrader and Skyler Reisinger were named to the All-District team by finishing 3rd and 7th, respectively.

The Urbana girls placed 6th as a team and did not advance, but Paige Stokes finished 3rd and will advance as an individual.

Mechanicsburg’s girls team finished second and advanced to the state tournament.

MHS’s Katie Bush, Ally Hosier and Michaela Edwards were named to the All-District team. Bush won the tournament as an individual.

The Mechanicsburg boys missed qualifying, but Preston Estep will compete as an individual.

WL-S time change

To accommodate fans who choose to follow the girls and boys basketball teams from the same school, Saturday’s West Liberty-Salem vs. Northwestern Division III girls basketball sectional final game has been switched from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Franklin Monroe High School.
