Nick Dials has resigned from his position as head men’s basketball coach at Urbana University after two years with the program.

UU Executive Director of Athletics Larry Cox said the search is underway to find the 11th head coach in program history.

“We are thankful for Nick’s time and effort that he put into improving the Blue Knight men’s basketball program during his two seasons,” Cox said. “We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Under Dials, the Blue Knights posted a top-25 win and for the first time in program history featured a Mountain East Conference Player of the Week (twice) and an All-MEC Second Team honoree (Malik Jacobs).

The men’s basketball team finished the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 6-20, which included 12 games decided by 10 points or less.

Dials’ overall record at UU was 10-44 overall.
