West Liberty-Salem freshman Lydia Moell has qualified in the pole vault for this weekend’s OATCCC State Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held at the University of Akron’s Stile Athletic Field House.

The top 18 performances from this year’s regular season indoor meets qualified for state competition.

Moell’s qualifying vault was 9-06.

“Lydia has been working really hard to improve her technique and core strength this winter,” said West Liberty-Salem girls head track and field coach Ann Vogel. “She has already vaulted a foot better than her personal best last year, and we’re thrilled she’s earned a spot to compete with some of the best vaulters in the state.”

The DII/III competition starts at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Live results will be posted at www.finishtiming.com.
