Graham wrestling earns wins over the weekend

Graham won the Valley View Wrestling Invitational with 315 team points on Saturday, crowning eight champions.

Winning titles for the Falcons were Tanner Jordan (106 pounds), Jordan Crace (120), Jeffrey Thomas (126), Mitch Moore (132), John Stickley (138), Rocky Jordan (152), Ryan Thomas (160) and Gage Braun (182).

Dawson Show (113), Hunter Hyden (170) and Kavan Sarver (195) finished second. Johnny Shafer (220) was third and Khrizdon VanHoose (285) was sixth.

Graham’s Black team also competed, finishing in 8th place with 73 points.

Andrew Shaffer (120) was second. Isaiah Stickley (132), Forrest Hyden (220) and Jacob Martin (285) were fourth and Branson Anway (106) was sixth.

On Sunday, the Falcons traveled to Eastern Michigan University to compete against Richmond (Mich.) High School. Graham came away with a 58-6 victory.

Moore (135), Rocky Jordan (152) and Shafer (285) each won via pin.

Crace (119), Jeffrey Thomas (125), Stickley (140) and Ryan Thomas (160) won by technical fall.

Isaiah Stickley (130) and Hunter Hyden (171) won major decisions, while Tanner Jordan (106), Show (112), Braun (189) and Sarver (215) each won decisions.

The matches were contested at Michigan high school weight classes.

Indians 5th at Classic

The Mechanicsburg girls bowling squad finished fifth at the Buckeye Classic at HP Lanes in Columbus on Saturday.

Ally Hosier led the squad with a 226-174-293/593 to finish second. She made the all-tournament team with her effort.

Miranda Keene had a 162-132-139/433, Skyler Herron rolled a 136-159-138/433, Jenna Alspaugh rolled games of 167 and 140, Madison Boggs had a 151 and Amanda Coulter had a 143.

JH wrestling

Triad hosted its middle school wrestling invitational on Saturday.

West Liberty-Salem’s Ian Maurice went 4-1 and finished third with 2 pins at 122 pounds. Monty Leach also won his first match of the season with a pin at 150 pounds.
