Hillclimber boys earn road victory at Carroll

DAYTON – Levi Boettcher scored a team-high 17 points as Urbana defeated Carroll, 52-39, in non-league boys basketball on Tuesday.

Carroll made a run at UHS in the third quarter, but the Hillclimbers out-scored the home team, 17-5, in the fourth period.

“We played three excellent quarters,” said Urbana Coach Jeremy Dixon.

For UHS (3-1), Jace Underwood had 13 points and Riley Emmons added 11.

Carroll won the jayvee game, 41-24, Grant Hower had 9 points for Urbana.

Carroll won the 9th grade game, 39-28. Austin Rooney had 19 points for UHS.

The Hillclimbers host Bellefontaine Friday night.

JH basketball

Urbana 7th grade boys basketball beat Graham, 35-29. Max Keely had 15 points.

Urbana 8th grade boys basketball lost to Graham, 47-26. Kendel Dolby and Cody Peterson each had 9 points.

Mechanicsburg 7th grade girls basketball beat Southeastern, 28-20. Lani Wilhelm and Day Rodgers led the Indians in scoring.

Mechanicsburg 8th grade girls basketball beat Southeastern, 46-16. Grace Forrest, Jennifer Wallace and Megan Alsbaugh each scored in double figures for the Indians.

UHS-Sidney tickets

Sidney High School expects the game versus Urbana on Dec. 30 to sell out. Presale tickets are on sale from the Urbana athletic department Friday against Bellefontaine at halftime or at the athletic office during normal business hours. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $4.
