Hux leads Mechanicsburg girls to victory

MECHANICSURG – Sydney Hux had a game-high 15 points and 8 rebounds as Mechanicsburg beat Catholic Central, 56-26, in OHC girls basketball on Thursday.

The Indians led, 33-14, at the half.

For Mechanicsburg, Elly Schipfer had 13 points, 6 assists and 8 rebounds, Mikayla Dodane had 11 points and Heather Miller added 10.

WL-S girls win

SOUTH CHARLESTON – WL-S nipped Southeastern, 43-42, Thursday night in OHC girls basketball.

Southeastern led, 30-29, heading into the final period.

For the Tigers (11-2, 7-0), Lily Yoder had 11 points and Jamie Peterson added 10.

Junior high basketball

The Triad 7th grade boys lost to Mechanicsburg, 33-27. Wyatt Cave had 10 and Batai Lease had 7 for Triad.

Triad’s 8th graders lost, 38-23. Jordan Simonelli had 9 points for Triad.

The WL-S 7th grade boys beat Cedarville, 40-13. Nick Burden had 13 points for the Tigers.

The WL-S boys 8th grade team defeated Cedarville, 63-50. The Tigers (8-2) were led by Trevor Woodruff with 15 points and Eli McGill with 13.

The Urbana 7th grade boys lost to Northridge, 55-40. Wyatt Teets had 17 points, Nolan Smith had 15 and Landon Turner added 8 rebounds for UJHS (0-9).

Urbana won the 8th grade game, 48-35. Grant Hower had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Marion Krebehenne had 10 points and 12 rebounds for Urbana (7-2).

The Urbana 7th grade girls lost to Northridge, 28-21.

The Urbana 8th graders lost, 37-22.

The Graham 7th grade girls defeated Indian Lake, 25-11. Lexi King scored 14 points in the victory.
