Urbana Water Division officials will close roads to work on water mains Feb. 1 and Feb. 3.

Water Superintendent Bob Munch said the first project will include the water mains at the intersection of East Ward Street and Sycamore Street on Monday, Feb. 1. East Ward Street will be closed to traffic from Todd Street to East Lawn Avenue. Sycamore will be closed from East Church Street to Washington Avenue. Local traffic only will be allowed.

The 500 block of East Ward Street will be without water during the day Monday. After repairs are completed, customers who lost water service will be under a boil-water advisory until samples can be taken and analyzed.

The second project is an excavation at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Logan Street on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The intersection is estimated to be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work for both of these projects is weather-dependent, Munch said
