Economic development incentives training offered

0

The Champaign Economic Partnership, Champaign County’s economic development agency, is planning a free training program for local officials on economic development incentives provided by the state to promote business growth.

The training, led by Christiane Schmenk, Of Counsel for Bricker and Eckler, LLP, and former director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 13 at Pioneer Electric Cooperative’s Urbana office. The training will be for county commissioners, mayors and administrators of cities and villages, school superintendents, treasurers and school board members, and township officials.

The training will provide a better understanding of how economic development incentives are used, the process of each, how they assist in boosting the economic development of an area and the structure for taxes.

To attend, contact the CEP office at 937-653-7200.
