The annual Dick LeBeau Legends Golf Classic at Mitchell Hills Club on Saturday was another big success.

The event benefits the United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties.

Urbana High School graduate Roger Wallace was part of the winning team which posted a score of 11-under par.

After a great football career at UHS, Wallace went on to star at wide receiver for Bowling Green and with Memphis of the World Football League.

He finished his pro career with the New York Giants in 1976.

With Memphis in 1974, Wallace had 39 receptions for 675 yards and 5 TDs.

Several other Champaign County residents played in Saturday’s tournament, and Urbana University’s new defensive coordinator, Stacey Hairston, also participated as a Legend.

Hairston was a standout defensive back for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League and later played in 1993-94 with the Cleveland Browns under head coach Bill Belichick and defensive coordinator Nick Saban.

Hairston was the head coach at Wilmington College for four years before taking the job as UU’s defensive coordinator in May.

He played on Saturday with a foursome that included Urbana residents Gene and Jane Sandy and John Harrigan.

Trivia Time – Champaign County native Harvey Haddix wore uniform number 57 when he was the pitching coach of the World Champion Pittsburgh Pirates in 1979.

This week’s question – Which uniform number did Urbana High School graduate Roger Wallace wear with the Memphis team of the World Football League in 1974-75?
