Brown to do voice role in Thor: Ragnarok

Urbana native/actor Clancy Brown will voice the role of the 1,000-foot tall fire demon Surtur in the upcoming movie Thor: Ragnarok.

According to press reports about the movie, Surtur has the power to manipulate fire with naturally-devastating consequences to those he uses it against.

Brown has done voice work in hundreds of movies and cartoons, including the role of Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob Squarepants.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 3.

Brown will appear in a live-action role in Stronger, a movie about Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman which will open in theaters on Sept. 22.

Brown plays the father of Bauman, who is being portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal.
