2 people fatally shot, 1 wounded in southwest Ohio shooting

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two people have been fatally shot and a third person critically wounded during a shooting inside a southwest Ohio home.

The Dayton Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/2b9fz7e ) that a man seen leaving the home in Dayton after the shooting Wednesday afternoon is in custody. A Dayton police lieutenant says the shooting doesn’t appear to be random.

Someone who lives near the home says he heard a number of gunshots and then saw a man walk outside and speed away in a pickup truck. Police officers who responded to a 911 call stopped the truck and took the man into custody after a five-minute pursuit.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims as 74-year-old Jasper Taylor and 53-year-old Tammy Cox.
