Urbana University and Head Football Coach Tyler Haines announced the 2016 football schedule on Wednesday.

The Blue Knights will play 11 games total, including six home contests at UU Stadium in Haines’ second year leading the program.

UU gets the fourth season as a member of the Mountain East Conference under way with the league’s “Game of the Week” on Sept. 1 at Glenville State. The Blue Knights will have revenge on their minds after getting shut out by the Pioneers at home in last season’s opener. Kickoff time for the Thursday night matchup at Morris Stadium in Glenville, West Virginia, has not been announced.

The Blue Knights will return for their home opener the following week against West Virginia State, the team which Haines picked up his first collegiate win against last fall. UU and WVSU will square off on Saturday, Sept. 10 with a 1 p.m. kickoff. Fans should note that all home games played at UU Stadium will feature a 1 p.m. kickoff, which is an hour later than previous years.

UU will continue its schedule with a game on every Saturday from Sept. 10 until Nov. 12. The rest of the home games include: West Liberty (Sept. 24), Cincinnati Christian (Oct. 8), West Virginia Wesleyan (Oct. 15 – Homecoming), UVa-Wise (Oct. 29) and 2015 MEC Champion and national runner-up Shepherd (Nov. 12).

Away games will be played at Concord (Sept. 17), Fairmont State (Oct. 1), Charleston (Oct. 22) and Notre Dame College (Nov. 5).

UU recently announced the first signing class under Haines and the team will officially begin spring practice on March 28.
