M’burg, GHS lead at districts

TROY – Mechanicsburg was in first place after the first day of the Division III district wrestling meet at Troy on Friday.

Still alive in the championship semifinals for Saturday were Tyler Wetzel (113 pounds), Nick Miller (132), Tanner Smith (138), Wade Smiddy (145), Corey Bogan (152), Kaleb Romero (160), Dustin Knapp (170) and Dylan Hartley (220). Triad’s Jacob Thompson (170) was also still alive after stretching his undefeated record with a pair of pins.

Still alive in the consolation bracket was Mechanicsburg’s Alex Rhine (120). Triad’s Zack Zizzo (138) also fell into the consolation bracket.

Graham cruising in D-II

WILMINGTON – Graham was in first place after the first day of the Division II district wrestling meet at Wilmington on Friday.

Still alive in the championship semifinals for Saturday were Jordan Crace (106 pounds), Jeffrey Thomas (113), Justin Stickley (120), Mitch Moore (126), Ryan Thomas (132), Brent Moore (138), Rocky Jordan (145), Garrett Jordan (160), Alex Marinelli (170), Gage Braun (182), Kavan Sarver (195) and Johnny Shafer (220). Joining them were Urbana’s Jaylin Cameron (120) and Jack Harris (195).

Still alive in the consolation bracket for Graham were Joey Sanchez (152) and Brandon Hays (285). Joining them were Urbana’s Gavyn Grim (126), Ezra Lee (132), Mitchell Moyer (138), Braeden Lehman (145) and Jacob Angles (170).
