North Union defeats Urbana in girls hoops

RICHWOOD – North Union beat Urbana, 54-32, in CBC/MRD girls basketball on Saturday.

The Hillclimbers trailed, 38-17, at the half.

For UHS, Lyza Forson had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Peyton Mounce added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.

The Hillclimbers are now 10-4, 3-2 while North Union improves to 13-1, 5-0.

Indians win

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Mechanicsburg held off Southeastern, 50-45, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

The Indians led, 23-18, at the half.

For Mechanicsburg (10-2, 7-1), Olivia Skillings had 11 points and Dani Schipfer and Emily Conley each added 10.

Graham wins

ST. PARIS – Graham beat Indian Lake, 47-40, in CBC/MRD girls basketball on Saturday.

Graham led, 19-18, at the half.

For the Falcons (3-10, 1-3), Abby Yukon had 22 points and Hailey Nash added 11.

“We played well but the turnovers in the first half killed us,” said GHS Coach Scott Seeberg. “We did a lot better in the second half with the turnovers and we got some key baskets when we needed them. A lot of kids added to the win.”

Graham won the jayvee game, 34-31. Emma Yukon had 14 points for the Falcons.

Tigers prevail

CEDARVILLE – Aubrey Williams scored a game-high 14 points as WL-S rallied to upend Cedarville, 39-30, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

WL-S trailed, 16-11, at the half.

For the Tigers (6-7, 5-4), Gabby Williams added 7 points.

Cedarville won the jayvee game, 29-27. Laila Butler had 8 points for WL-S.

Triad falls

SPRINGFIELD – Catholic Central defeated Triad, 66-16, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

For Triad (0-13, 0-9), Madi Cox had 7 points, Ashlyn McCoy had 6 rebounds and Abbey Overfield added 5 points.
