UHS claims outright MRD title

ENON – Urbana beat Greenon, 75-35, Friday night to claim the outright CBC/MRD boys basketball title.

“Winning the MRD outright is our first goal every year right from the beginning of practice,” said Urbana Coach Jeremy Dixon. “We’re pretty happy to get this outright title.”

UHS led, 23-7, at the end of the first quarter and 39-14 at the half.

The Hillclimbers owned a 69-23 lead after three periods.

For Urbana (14-6, 9-1), Jordan Underwood had 23 points – including 7 of 7 from the charity stripe – Levi Boettcher had 14 and Cameron Logwood added 13.

UHS won the jayvee game, 54-28. For Urbana, Dakota Hower had 17 points and Reid Taylor added 14.

The Hillclimbers play at Kenton Ridge tonight.

Graham loses to IL

ST. PARIS – Indian Lake defeated Graham, 46-39, Friday night in CBC/MRD boys basketball.

The Lakers led, 18-14, at the end of the first quarter and 26-23 at the half.

Indian Lake owned a 35-31 lead heading into the fourth period.

For Graham (6-15, 3-7), Conner Wylie had game-high 22 points – including 4 treys.

The Falcons play at Shawnee tonight.
