ST. PARIS – Graham held off Mechanicsburg, 58-48, Tuesday night in non-league boys basketball.
The score was tied, 15-15, at the end of the first quarter and the Falcons led, 35-26, at the half.
Graham owned a 43-37 lead after three periods powered by a tight defense inside the lane. Mechanicsburg attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter but committed a technical foul and put Graham in the bonus to finish out.
For the Falcons (6-14 overall), Andrew Ford had 16 points, teammates Conner Wylie and Daniel Newport each scored 13 and Tyler Powell had 10.
Bobby Welch led the Indians with 21 points and Mack Cushman scored 14.
Graham’s jayvee team won, 60-35, led by 29 points from Levi Baker.
Friday night, Graham hosts Indian Lake and Mechanicsburg plays at Greeneview.
Horner scores 13
BELLEFONTAINE – In Graham’s 52-30 loss to Bellefontaine on Monday in CBC girls basketball, Bethany Horner had 13 points for the Falcons.
Bellefontaine won the jayvee game, 47-37. Brooke Johannes had 26 points for Graham.
WL-S falls in bowling
Bellefontaine defeated WL-S, 2,076-1,834, in non-league girls bowling on Tuesday.
Scores for the Tigers were Rachel Larson: 154-139 293 series, Erica McCall: 144-133 277 series, Taylor Loverde: 125-147 272 series, Hailee Clifford: 112-131 243 series and Lauren Hostetler: 92-102 194 series.
Youth sports meeting
Urbana Youth Sports is having a meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Urbana Youth Sports Building (by the soccer fields) at Melvin Miller Park. It is open to the public.
