ST. PARIS – The Division II district track and field championships began Thursday at Graham High School with the preliminaries and a few finals.
In the events that did go final, Graham’s girls 4×800 team finished 8th and Urbana’s was 12th. Graham’s boys were 9th and Urbana’s were 14th.
In the boys’ discus, Dalton Oder (GHS) was 18th, Austin Fisher (UHS) was 20th and David DeWeese (GHS) was 23rd.
In the boys’ long jump, Graham’s Tyler Powell was 12th, Urbana’s Nick Johnson was 16th and Graham’s Mark Hughes was 30th.
In the girls’ shot put, Graham’s Kayla Tullis was 7th, Molly Hamilton was 15th, Urbana’s Katie Asper was 25th and Rachel Delaney was 26th.
In the girls’ high jump, Urbana’s Madisyn Horn was 7th.
No local athletes advanced to the regional on Thursday. The district finals will be held here on Saturday.

Signups for the West Liberty Soccer Association will be held at The Grove in West Liberty on June 3 and June 10 from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. each day.
Officiating class

North Lewisburg/Trucco beat JWP, 14-12.
Standouts for JWP included Madison Harvel, Rose Parthemore, Sara Thompson, Rachel Bever, Olivia Stout and Maddie Jenkins.
10-u baseball
Triad defeated Markin’s Pump, 17-7. Standouts for Markin’s were Connor Daniels and Brock Markin.
