Raterman resigns as AD

After nine years on the job, Urbana High School Athletic Director Chuck Raterman announced his resignation on Friday.

“I’m extremely proud of the more than 40 teams that have either won a Central Buckeye Conference, sectional, district or state championship and have had their pictures hung in the Hallway of Champions during my tenure,” Raterman noted in his letter of resignation. “Needless to say, I am very proud of what the athletic department has been able to accomplish.”

Raterman noted that an opportunity has come up in another school district which will allow him to return to the classroom.

“This is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” noted Raterman, who graduated from UHS.

Raterman’s contract with the school district officially ends on July 31.
