Triad shuts out Springfield, 5-0, in softball

NORTH LEWISBURG – Triad blanked Springfield, 5-0, in non-league softball on Wednesday.

For the Cardinals, Maddy Collier earned the win, Brianna Eaton was 3 for 3, Abby Ehrenborg was 2 for 2 with a double and Madison Dolby added a double.

Triad (6-5) plays at Duke Park in Troy on Saturday at 10 a.m. vs. Northwestern, noon vs. Piqua and 2 p.m. vs. Milton-Union.

M’burg baseball loses

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Southeastern defeated Mechanicsburg, 3-0, in OHC baseball on Wednesday.

The Indians mustered just a single hit in the effort, with Matt Meyers going 1-for-2. Caleb Newsome pitched four innings, giving up just two hits.

MHS (5-3) hosts Cedarville on Friday.

M’burg softball falls

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Southeastern defeated Mechanicsburg, 3-1, in OHC softball on Wednesday.

For the Indians (1-5), Kasey Schipfer was 2 for 3 and Francys King was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

WL-S baseball wins

WL-S topped Catholic Central, 7-2, in OHC baseball on Wednesday,

The Tigers staked starting and winning pitcher Chase Humphrey to an early lead. Humphrey belted a triple driving in Thomas Allen who led the game off with a single. Dillon Callicoat followed it up with a double putting the Tigers up 2-0.

The Tigers collected 15 hits in the game. Callicoat, Trevor Burden and Brandon Orahood all had multi-hit games. Allen and Humphrey both had 3 hits on the day.

The WL-S jayvees downed Miami East, 8-7. Ian Clark picked up the win.

Graham loses in baseball

Bellefontaine beat Graham, 6-1, in CBC baseball on Wednesday.

Chasen Poole had 2 hits for the Falcons.

GHS softball prevails

Graham defeated Bellefontaine, 12-5, in CBC softball on Wednesday.

Madison Bryant was 4-for-4 with a double and 2 home runs and earned the win for the Falcons (9-1, 5-0).
