Urbana couldn’t overcome a three-run second inning by Northwestern and fell to the Warriors, 4-1, in CBC baseball on Tuesday.

Kaleb Bowdle went 3-for-4 for Urbana and Tyler Weekley was 2-for-3. Seth Mangus was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Caleb Peterson was 2-for-4. Urbana stranded 10 runners.

Peterson went just over six innings on the mound, striking out 10 while allowing seven hits. But the defense committed three errors and the Hillclimbers couldn’t recover.

Urbana (3-3) plays at Sidney on Thursday.

Falcons keep rolling

Graham defeated Benjamin Logan, 12-7, in CBC softball on Tuesday.

Madi Vanscoy was 4-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBI and Alli Neeld was 2-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI for the Falcons. Adrianna Hicks was 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI, Ashton Curnutte was 3-for-5 with a pair of triples and 2 RBI and Madison Bryant was 2-for-3.

“It was a slugfest. It was a good game,” GHS Coach Ralph Foster said.

Bryant got the win for Graham, striking out seven.

Graham (5-0) will host Bellefontaine on Thursday.

Graham baseball wins

Benjamin Logan out-hit Graham, 8-3, but the Falcons came away with a 5-4 victory in CBC baseball on Tuesday.

Mark Ward drove in two runs for Graham.

M’burg stat leaders

For Mechanicsburg in Monday’s 7-1 softball loss to WL-S, Kasey Schipfer was 2-for-4 and Mary Mayo was 2-for-3.

The Indians play at Fairbanks today.

UHS tennis wins

Urbana defeated Bellefontaine, 5-0, in CBC boys tennis on Tuesday.

At first singles, Andrew Fansler beat Hunter Karg, 6-0, 6-1.

At second singles, Abe Angles beat Mavrick Calton, 6-0, 6-0.

At third singles, Cole Headlee beat Ben Sailors, 6-0, 6-0.

At first doubles, Hudson Stouffer and Nick Pettit beat Kasey Middbaugh and Lindsay Stevenson, 6-1, 6-3.

And at second doubles, Alex Swank and Ethan Burnside beat Aiden Hartley and Camelton Neer, 6-2, 6-4.

Jayvees Jacob Coffey and Trevor Johnson won, 8-0.

UHS (3-2) hosts Northwestern on Thursday.
