Graham competes at 14-team Joe Ward Invite

SIDNEY – Graham track competed at the 14-team Joe Ward Invitational in Sidney on Tuesday.

Placing third for the girls were Kaitlyn Trace in the high jump (4-8) and Kayla Tullis in the discus (92-01). Tullis was also sixth in the shot (31-10). Ashton Arnett finished fifth in the pole vault and Roxie Conn was sixth in the 800.

For the boys, the 4×400 team of Travis Frost, Brady Oder, Tyler Powell and Zach Caudill finished in third place.

The Falcons will be back in action on Saturday at the Tecumseh Invitational. Field events begin at 11 a.m.

M’burg, Triad begin season

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Triad and Mechanicsburg competed at the Southeastern track meet on Wednesday.

For the Triad girls, Holly Cole won the 1,600 with a time of 6:12 and the 3,200 with a time of 13:13. Cole was second in the 800.

Placing third was Ashley Cave (200).

For the Triad boys, the 4×200 relay team was second and Eli O’Brien was third in the 200.

For the Mechanicsburg girls, Emily Wilson (100, long jump), Shannon Barch (discus) and Grace Layne (200) won events.

Layne (100), Gabby Terry (long jump), Stephanie Dietrich (1,600), Barch (shot put), the 4×100 relay team and the 4×400 relay finished second.

Earning third were the 4×800 relay team, the 4×200 relay, Ava Mayo (long jump) and Dietrich (3,200).

For the M’burg boys, Drew VanVoorhis (shot put), Gavin Erwin (400) and the 4×400 relay team won events.

Earning third were Cannon Propst (shot put) and JP Kent (3,200).
