NORTH LEWISBURG – Shane Ford threw a two-hit shutout as Triad defeated Mechanicsburg, 9-0, in OHC baseball on Wednesday.
For the Cardinals, Ford was 4 for 4, Trevor Instine was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI, Jacob Greve was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and Briley Harlan was 2 for 3.
Triad wins in softball
NORTH LEWISBURG – Triad held off Mechanicsburg, 3-1, in OHC softball on Wednesday.
Maddy Collier earned the win and went 2 for 3 for the Cardinals. Abby Ehrenborg had a triple and Madison Dolby and Gracie Sheets each had a double for THS.
For the Indians, Elysha Stapleton took the loss and Mary Mayo and Miranda Lauchard (2 for 3) each had a double.
Triad (1-2, 1-0) plays at Fairbanks on Thursday.
The Indians (0-2, 0-1) play at Northeastern today.
WL-S tops W-G
West Liberty-Salem run ruled Waynesfield-Goshen, 11-0, in five innings on Wednesday in non-league softball.
Kelsey Day earned the win and had three hits and Kiana Reames, Hallie Strapp and Olivia Ames added two hits each.
WL-S plays at Mechanicsburg Monday.
