Gary Eaton Jr., driving the #18 sponsored by Marysville Honda, will be part of history when Vore’s Compact Touring Series – owned by Steve Vore of Vore’s Welding and Steel in Fort Recovery – makes the historic debut of compacts racing at the most famous short track in the world. VCTS is part of the inaugural U.S. Nationals of Short Track Racing May 19-21 presented by Vore’s Welding and Steel.

Bristol Motor Speedway seats 160,000 people at the half-mile track that is typically used just twice a year for NASCAR races.

Before Bristol, Eaton will race at the 5/8th-mile Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis owned by the NHRA April 1-2 and then to the Holy Grail of Dirt Tacks, Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio owned by Tony Stewart on April 22. VCTS drivers also get to race at Winchester Speedway, the second oldest race track in America behind the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, three weekends in 2017.

When asked about the 2017 season, Vore said: “I just wanted to give Saturday night short track racers like Gary a chance to go to some of the greatest short tracks in the world. Otherwise these opportunities would not present themselves.”
