Local wrestlers shine in sectionals

The first day of sectional wrestling concluded Friday, with several local grapplers alive for today’s competition.

In Division II at Graham, Graham has all of its wrestlers alive in the championship bracket.

Tanner Jordan (106 pounds), Dawson Show (113), Jordan Crace (120), Jeffrey Thomas (126), Mitch Moore (132), J.D. Stickley (138), Joey Sanchez (145), Rocky Jordan (152), Ryan Thomas (160), Hunter Hyden (170), Gage Braun (182), Kavan Sarver (195), Johnny Shafer (220) and Khrizdon VanHoose (285) were all in the semifinals.

In the other D-II sectional at Graham, Urbana had quite a few wrestlers still alive and finished the day in third place as a team.

Lucas Chess (106), Austin Murray (113), Gavyn Grim (126), Damion Williams (145), Braeden Lehman (152), Isaac Craft (195) and Austin Fisher (220) were in the semifinals.

Daniel Westcott (120) and Louis Ramris (160) were in the consolation ladder.

In Division III at Lehman Catholic, Mechanicsburg has several athletes in the semifinals.

Tyler Wetzel (126), Alex Rhine (132), Tanner Smith (145), Colt Yinger (152), Corey Bogan (160), Kaleb Romero (170), Dustin Knapp (182), Dylan Hartman (220) and Dylan Hartley (285) were all in the semifinals.

Dakota Lay (106), Ben Stroud (120) and Isaac Bryant (138) were in the consolations.

West Liberty-Salem’s Tanner Workman (120) and Triad’s Zack Zizzo (145) were in the semifinals.

Dalton Overfield (THS, 126), Charlie Williams (WL-S, 160) and Zayne Reed (WL-S, 170) were in the consolations.
