Urbana girls knock off Indian Lake, 52-39

Urbana defeated Indian Lake, 52-39, in CBC girls basketball on Saturday. For UHS, Katy Curnutte had 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Natalie Seeberg had 12 points and 14 rebounds and Madisyn Horn added 12 points.

Urbana (7-10) plays at Tippecanoe on Wednesday.

Mechanicsburg girls lose

Greeneview defeated Mechanicsburg, 82-36, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday. Elly Schipfer had 12 points to lead the Indians.

M’burg plays at Southeastern on Thursday.

Lady Cardinals fall

Southeasetern beat Triad, 40-21, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday. Jenna Ober had 13 points to lead Triad.

Triad won the jayvee game, 37-27. Shelby Sheets had 11 points for Triad.

The Cardinals play at Benjamin Logan tonight.

Lady Falcons fall

Northwestern defeated Graham, 50-42, in CBC girls basketball on Saturday.

Graham plays at Bellefontaine on Wednesday.

Graham wrestlers top St. Edward

LAKEWOOD, Ohio – Graham defeated St. Edward, 37-17, in a clash between two of the state’s top wrestling programs on Saturday.

Alex Marinelli (170 pounds), Kavan Sarver (195) and Johnny Shafer (285) each won by pin for Graham.

Brent Moore (138) got a major decision.

Jeffrey Thomas (113), Justin Stickley (120), Mitch Moore (126), Rocky Jordan (145) and Garrett Jordan (160) each took decisions.

M’burg bowlers third

The Mechanicsburg girls bowling team finished in third place at the Warrior Challenge tournament in Columbus.

The Indians were led by Ally Hosier who rolled a 703 to finish in first place as an individual and Lauren Mayberry who rolled a 592 to finish fourth as an individual. Both Ally and Lauren made the All-Tournament Team.

Katie Bush had a 201-178-207/587 series, Michaela Edwards had a 181-171-174/526, Jenna Alspaugh had games of 148 and 170 and Miranda Keene contributed a 140.

The Indians shot a 3,648 in the qualifying round for a 1st place finish to advance to the championship round. In the championship round they defeated Newark 2-0 and then they lost 2-0 to Olentagy Orange for the third place finish.
