Burden leads WL-S past Cedarville, 53-41

WEST LIBERTY – Trevor Burden scored a game-high 16 points as WL-S defeated Cedarville, 53-41, in OHC boys basketball Tuesday night.

The Tigers led, 33-21, at the half.

For WL-S (7-4, 3-3), Dillon Callicoat had 13 points and Max Eggleston added 12.

The Tigers won the jayvee game, 57-25. Tyler Jones, Eli McGill and Alex Fitzpatrick each had 11 points for WL-S.

Triad boys fall

NORTH LEWISBURG – Greeneview defeated Triad, 60-53, in OHC boys basketball on Tuesday.

Hadley LeVan scored 24 points for the Cardinals (4-5, 2-4), while Jevin Edley, Thomas O’Neal and Alec Ober each added 8.

In the jayvee game, Greeneview prevailed, 36-20.

Triad won the freshman game, 32-30. Tate Campbell scored 12 points.

M’burg boys lose

SPRINGFIELD – Northeastern topped Mechanicsburg, 74-41, in OHC boys basketball on Tuesday.

The Jets led, 38-15, at the intermission.

For the Indians, Chris Taylor had 17 points and Logan Hurst added 11.

Northeastern won the jayvee game, 58-24. Bradley Butsch had 6 points for the Indians.

Urbana bowling wins

Urbana beat Ben Logan, 3,010-2,508, in CBC boys bowling.

For UHS (7-1), Kyle Beavers had a 268-228, Luc Russell a 202-230, Andru Troyer a 228-191, Taylor Armstrong a 205-199 and Caleb Peterson a 182-194.

The Urbana girls won, 2,305-1,908.

For UHS (4-4), Kayla Evans had a 195-228, Olivia Krieger a 247-160, Sarrah Baldwin a 150-160 and Lily Cooksey a 161-141.

MHS bowling prevails

Mechanicsburg defeated Kenton Ridge, 2,860-2,857, in boys bowling.

For the Indians, Caleb Westfall had a 256-257/513 series, David McMahill a 191-236/427, Jake Ripley a 225-195/421 and Preston Estep had a 189-221/410. Peyton O’Laughlin rolled a 179 game and Aiden Shelton had a 152.

The Mechanicsburg girls beat Kenton Ridge, 2,504-2,451, improving to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in the OHC.

For the Indians, Miranda Keene had a 215-177/392, Amanda Coulter a 165-217/382, Ally Hosier a 192-184/376, Madison Boggs a 163-170/333 and Skyler Herron a 177-146/323.

9th grade basketball

The WL-S boys lost in 2 OTs to Fort Loramie, 42-36. Eli McGill had 19 points for the Tigers (7-2).

JH basketball

Tecumseh beat Urbana, 43-35, in 7th grade boys basketball. For UJHS (3-6), Max Keely had 12 points and Aaron Norris added 11.

Urbana won the 8th grade game, 39-34. For UJHS (1-8), Cody Peterson had 9 points and Nolan Smith had 8.

Bellefontaine defeated Graham, 21-18, in 8th grade girls basketball. Lexi King had 6 points for Graham.
