Cedarville tops Mechanicsburg in girls basketball

MECHANICSBURG – Cedarville downed Mechanicsburg, 53-36, Wednesday night in OHC girls basketball.

Mechanicsburg trailed, 14-3, at the end of the first quarter and 30-11 at the half.

Cedarville led, 38-23, after three periods.

For Mechanicsburg, Mikayla Dodane had 25 points.

The home team was out-rebounded, 41-30.

Cedarville won the jayvee game, 31-20. For Mechanicsburg, Emma Jones had 11 points and Mackenzie Wilson added 8.

UHS splits in bowling

Urbana beat Bellefontaine, 2,608-2,389, in CBC boys bowling.

For UHS (5-1), Luc Russell had a 226-187, Kyle Beavers a 209-174, Taylor Armstrong a 175-170 and Justin Brown a 192.

Bellefontaine won the girls match, 2,226-2,094.

For UHS (2-4), Kayla Evans had a 174-211, Sarrah Baldwin a 181-172 and Lillian Daniels a 150-140.

JH basketball

In 8th grade girls basketball, Triad defeated Southeastern, 35-15. For Triad, Frani LeVan had 10 points, Cati LeVan had 8 points and 6 rebounds, Baylie Plank had 8 points, Abby Walls had 7 points and Joni Russell added 6 rebounds.

In 7th grade boys basketball, Miami View topped Triad, 44-29. For Triad, Jesse Bailey had 9 points and Ayden Sanford had 7.

Triad won the 8th grade game, 39-16. For Triad, Batai Lease had 15 points and Cole Pond had 8.
