Graham defeats Northwestern, 66-58

ST. PARIS – Graham defeated Northwestern, 66-58, Friday night in CBC/MRD boys basketball.

The Falcons led, 35-26, at the half and 51-37 heading into the fourth quarter.

For Graham (1-4, 1-1), Andrew Ford had 19 points, Conner Wylie had 13 and Daniel Newport added 12.

Northeastern beats M’burg

SPRINGFIELD – Northeastern beat Mechanicsburg, 41-36, Friday night in OHC boys basketball.

Northeastern led, 11-7, at the end of the first quarter and 24-21 at the half.

The Jets owned a 28-26 lead after three periods.

For the Indians, Mack Cushman had 8 points and Joey Butsch, Bobby Welch and Colton McMannis each had 7.

Mechanicsburg shot only 24 percent from the field compared to 46 percent for the Jets.

Triad falls to SE

NORTH LEWISBURG – Triad lost to Southeastern, 61-57, Friday night in OHC boys basketball.

The Cardinals are now 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the OHC.

Graham leads at Ironman

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – Graham leads with 62.5 points followed by Lakewood St. Edward and Wyoming Seminary, Pa., tied with 61 points after the first day of the Ironman Wrestling Tournament at Walsh Jesuit High School on Friday.

Graham wrestlers still alive in the championship round after Friday’s action are Mitch Moore, Brent Moore, Rocky Jordan and Alex Marinelli.

Alive in the consolations are Jordan Crace, Justin Stickley, Garrett Jordan, Kavan Sarver and Johnny Shafer.
