Triad’s Cole advances to D-III regional meet

Triad competed at the Division III district cross country meet at Cedarville on Saturday, finishing in 11th on the girls’ side.

Holly Cole led the team with a 12th-place finish in 20:11, setting a new personal record and qualifying for the regional meet at Troy.

Summer Doty (45th, 22:04), Alea Ferguson (71st, 23:00), Sandi Alspaugh (93rd, 24:15), Karen Alspaugh (157th, 28:32) and Lyndsey Alspaugh (160th, 28:54) also competed for the Cardinals.

The boys were also competing, with individuals Eli O’Brien (98th, 19:21) and Kaiden Forre (170th, 21:44) running.

Mechanicsburg was also in action, with Sophie Boeck (41st, 21:55), Stephanie Dietrich (57th, 22:32), Gloria Terry (96th, 24:18), Emily Wilson (100th, 24:24), Grace Rozmus (162nd, 29:06) and Isabelle Dietrich (163rd, 29:06) competing.

For the Indians’ boys, Isaac Bryant (120th, 19:58), J.P. Kent (140th, 20:27), Houston Fraley (141st, 20:28), Josh Nunamaker (172nd, 21:51), Drake Cary (189th, 23:19), J.P. Marsh (190th, 23:30) and Dakota Lay (198th, 24:42) all ran.

Volleyball stats

In West Liberty-Salem’s loss to state-ranked Versailles Saturday in a Division III sectional volleyball final, Tory Cordell had 7 kills, Alex Burton had 2 kills and 5 digs, Olivia Ames had 9 digs and Hallie Strapp added 5 digs for the Tigers.

WL-S finishes the season 10-15 overall.
