COLUMBUS – A string of three straight bonus point wins was more than enough for the fifth-ranked Ohio State wrestling team (2-0), as it rolled to a 28-9 victory over Arizona State (4-3) at St. John Arena. The wins were highlighted by major decisions from top-ranked Nathan Tomasello (125 pounds) and 19th-ranked Graham High School graduate Micah Jordan (141) as well as a dominating 16-0 tech fall by fifth-ranked Johnni DiJulius (133).

Micah’s brother, Bo, the top-ranked wrestler at 174 pounds, needed just 1:54 to pin ASU’s Zachary Smith in the second match of the evening to give Ohio State a 6-3 lead in the team score, an advantage they never relinquished.

Isaac Jordan wins

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Thirteen Wisconsin wrestlers competed at the Navy Classic on Saturday, as Graham High School graduate Isaac Jordan and Brock Horwath took first in their respective weight classes.

An injury kept Jordan out of the Badgers’ first dual meet against UW-Whitewater and the Michigan State Open, but he returned to the mat fired up, sweeping the 165-pound bracket.

The No. 2-ranked wrestler powered through his first two matches with ease, picking up falls at 1:51 and 1:53.

Jordan’s third match proved to be the tightest, as he won by decision, 6-5, over the U.S. Naval Academy’s Michael Coleman. He finished the day with 6-2 and 4-0 decisions to take the crown.
