UHS volleyball tops WL-S, falls to J. Center

Urbana defeated West Liberty-Salem, 25-14, 25-18, in non-league varsity volleyball on Saturday.

For the Hillclimbers, Hunter Rogan had 13 kills, Mackenzie Bean had 8 kills, Taylor Adams had 18 assists and Olivia Dunham had 13 digs.

Urbana lost to Jackson Center, 25-15, 25-15.

For Urbana (11-7), Rogan had 9 kills and 11 digs, Bean had 4 kills, Adams had 15 assists and Dunham had 8 digs.

The Urbana jayvees lost to West Liberty-Salem, 26-28, 25-15, 25-20 and lost to Jackson Center, 25-11, 25-18.

Tigers tie Raiders

West Liberty-Salem’s boys soccer team played to a 3-3 draw with Benjamin Logan. Raiph Levan had 2 goals and Neil Markin scored once. Levan and Markin tallied assists to one another, while Ethan Cole added an assist. Gavin Harrison had 4 saves.

WL-S hosts Fairbanks on Tuesday.

Indians win in soccer

Mechanicsburg defeated Marion Harding, 1-0, in girls soccer.

Tori Jacobs scored the lone goal and had 17 additional shots. Morgan Hamby had 7 saves.

M’burg (7-4-1) plays at West Liberty-Salem on Tuesday.

Golf schedule

In Division II district golf action, West Liberty-Salem will tee off at 9:50 a.m. at Glenview Golf Course in Cincinnati on Friday. The Tigers will play alongside Summit Country Day and Kettering Alter.

In Division III district golf action, Mechanicsburg will tee off Thursday at 9:50 a.m. at Beavercreek Golf Course in Beavercreek. The Indians will play alongside Seven Hills and Catholic Central.

Girls jayvee soccer

West Liberty-Salem defeated Preble Shawnee, 1-0.

Kaitlyn Michael scored for the Tigers off an assist from Laura Neer. Rachel McGill had 2 saves.

JH volleyball

Graham 8th grade volleyball beat Northeastern, 25-23, 25-9.

Mechanicsburg 8th grade volleyball beat Graham, 16-25, 25-19, 25-22.
