Tigers wrap up playoff berth in Div. VI

WEST LIBERTY – WL-S wrapped up a playoff berth with a 41-7 win over Springfield Catholic Central Friday night in OHC action.

The Tigers dominated from the start, jumping out to a 28-0 lead by halftime.

For WL-S in the contest, Brandon Upton passed for 126 yards and two touchdowns, Trevor Anderson rushed for 116 yards on seven carries with a TD and Levi Moell had two receptions for 71 yards and a score.

WL-S had 403 total yards compared to 223 for Central (4-6).

WL-S (8-2, 6-1) advances to a Division VI, Region 22 playoff game to be held on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Triad 55, Northeastern 40

NORTH LEWISBURG – Trent McIntyre passed for 240 yards and two touchdowns as Triad held off Northeastern, 55-40, Friday night in OHC football.

With the win, Triad ends the season at 5-5 overall after starting 1-4.

Tim Marsalis ran back the opening kickoff 90 yards for a Triad score, and McIntyre ran a punt back 83 yards for another TD in the second quarter.

Triad led the Jets, 34-26, at the half, but Northeastern rallied to tie it at 34-34 early in the third quarter.

Moments later, a McIntyre scoring run and a McIntyre TD pass to Marsalis gave the Cardinals a 48-34 lead.

Northeastern (2-8) had 508 total yards compared to 448 for Triad.
