DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway will host a full night of family fun on Saturday. It will mark the annual “Kids Night” on the rural oval with big wheel races, penny scrambles and wrestling. In addition each child will receive a new book bag full of back to school items until supplies run out. Moore Trucking of Tipp City and Auto Plus of Salem Ave. in Dayton have provided bikes to the big wheel race winners. Ohlinger Automotive, VMS and Nick and Nyoka Meade were among those who donated the book bags and supplies.

The Main Event wrestlers will also be on hand to hold matches.

The events were scheduled for last Saturday, but Mother Nature had other ideas as the event was rained out.

Saturday will also mark the end of points races for the year, as champions will be crowned after the last feature. Mike Ward is leading the late model points, with Mike Carroll atop the modifieds by 19 points over Brad Yelton. Jason Purtee is leading the pure stock division with Matt Jackson showing the way in tuners. Larry Adams has six feature wins in the compact class to lead the points. The street stock total shows Rodney Roush the leader by nine points over Buck Purtee.

The late models, modifieds, street stocks, pure stocks, compacts, tuners and spectator drag races will all be in action. Racing will begin at 7 p.m.

Rob Bryant of Sidney (pictured) recently won his fifth pure stock feature at Shady Bowl Speedway.
