Pigskin Picks

For the third straight time, our only miss came on UU – and its 34-7 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan – as we went 4-1 in our picks last week.

For the season, we are now 34-10 overall.

We’re still not quite sure how we missed on UU since WVW was 0-6 coming in and allowing 48 – yes 48 – points per game.

Oh well, we have a feeling we won’t miss on our UU pick this week.

Tonight’s Games

Urbana (2-6) at Indian Lake (6-2) – It’s a rebuilding year for Urbana, which does have some young players with good potential.

On the other side, Indian Lake is having one of its best seasons in recent years.

We’re picking the Lakers to win.

Mechanicsburg (8-0) at Greeneview (6-2) – Mechanicsburg is several notches above every team it is playing in the regular season this year.

And that includes Greeneview.

In fact, the Indians have scored more points per game than any other team in Division VI while at the same time giving up the fewest points in that division.

We’re going Mechanicsburg to prevail.

Southeastern (2-6) at WL-S (6-2) – The Tigers are cruising for another berth in the playoffs, while Southeastern is just looking forward to basketball season.

We’re picking WL-S to win.

Triad (3-5) at Springfield Catholic Central (4-4) – Triad will not be making a return trip to the playoffs, but the Cardinals can still salvage a .500 season with wins the last two weeks.

This game could be a close one, but we’re going with Triad to win.

Graham (2-6) at Northwestern (4-4) – Graham is struggling, and Northwestern is much better than it usually is.

In other words, we’re picking Northwestern to win.

Saturday’s Game

Charleston (6-1) at Urbana U. (2-5) – The Blue Knights have been a puzzling team this season – they have actually played much better on the road than at home.

This is a home game, so we’re going with Charleston to win.
