WHEELING, W. Va. – The 23rd-ranked Urbana University men’s soccer team extended its win streak to seven games on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Wheeling Jesuit. The Blue Knights improve to 7-1-1 overall and 5-1 in the Mountain East Conference.

UU played a complete game on the road, scoring three second-half goals en route to the team’s highest scoring output of the fall.

Two of those second-half scores came off the foot of Raoui Lassoued, including a 30-yard strike from straight on in the 64th minute to put UU ahead 3-0. Lassoued added his second goal from the left wing on a Lars Blenckers assist with 10 minutes left in regulation. Lassoued is second on the UU squad with five goals on the year.

Blenckers was credited with the game-winner in the 39th minute, when he knifed through the Cardinal defense and played a perfect ball from Alex Zanotti to the right side of the net. Blenckers’ second goal of the season put UU on the board first.

Lewis Dunne also notched his second goal of the season on a penalty kick early in the second half, giving UU the 2-0 advantage.

Nate Jones continued his outstanding play in goal for the Blue Knights. The junior captain recorded two saves and stayed undefeated after picking up his sixth win in net.

UU outshot WJU by two, 11-9, while both teams combined for 25 fouls in the match. All four of UU’s corner kicks came in the second half, and WJU kicked two corners in the second stanza.

UU returns to action on Tuesday in a critical MEC match at rival No. 25 Notre Dame College. The Blue Knights knocked off then-ranked No. 7 NDC earlier this season, 3-2. Tuesday’s contest will start at 4 p.m. in Euclid, Ohio.
